Carriage Way is located in the heart of the historic district. Carriage Way is a vernacular structure with Victorian features. The building was constructed between 1883 and 1885. In 1984 the structure was extensively restored to its original grandeur, fulfilling a dream of creating Carriage Way.
Accommodations include nine guest rooms located on the first and second floor of the main inn, and two rooms in our "Cottage". Guest rooms are air conditioned and have a private bath with claw foot tub or shower and are furnished with antiques and reproductions including brass, canopy, or four poster beds.
The St Augustine Bed and Breakfast Carriage Way "Cottage" is located just down the street about three doors. It's a completely restored cottage that was built about 1885. There are two bedrooms, each with a private bath. The living room is well appointed and very comfortable, with a sleeper sofa, wing-back chair, large TV, VCR and an antique dining table and chairs. There is a small kitchenette with a refrigerator and microwave.
Use one of the bedrooms, or reserve the whole cottage. It makes a wonderful "hideaway" for two couples or a perfect place for a family reunion.
Masters Room - Upstairs. King size Cherry bed. The room has floor-to-ceiling windows. The bathroom has a shower. Fireplace - Ben Franklin type stove. It uses canned heat. (It's more for ambiance than for heat.) The room is located just off the upper veranda.

Pacetti Room - Upstairs. Queen size massive oak bed. The Victorian style bathroom is large with an old fashioned claw foot tub with a shower.

Pittman Room - Upstairs. Queen size four poster Oak bed. The room has floor-to-ceiling windows. The bathroom has a shower. The room is located just off the upper veranda.

Bonnie Hill Room - Upstairs. Queen size four poster canopy bed. The private bath to this room is located out of the room - just 3 or 4 steps to the right. The Victorian bathroom has an old fashioned claw-foot tub with a shower and is private just for this room. It was an original bathroom in the house.

Burkley Room - Upstairs. Queen size four poster Oak bed. One of our smaller rooms, but cozy and quiet. It is located toward the back of the house, off to the street side. The Victorian bathroom has an old fashioned clawfoot tub with a shower.

Elizabeth Gould Room - Upstairs. This is a Honeymoon - Anniversary - Birthday room. It has a queen size massive walnut bed with beautiful inlay.The room is located upstairs at the back of the house. It is very quiet - it even has its own private hallway. The room has a cathedral ceiling and two skylights. The bathroom is large with a large double wide shower.

Eula Clark Room - Downstairs. Two Queen size beds. This large room is just off of the lower veranda and has floor-to-ceiling windows. The bathroom has a shower.

St. John Brown Room - Downstairs. The perfect room for two or three people. It has a queen size iron bed and an iron daybed. The private bath to this room is located out of the room - just 3 or 4 steps to the left - but private just for this room. The bathroom is large with a shower.

Johnson Room - Downstairs. Queen size brass bed.This is one of our smaller rooms. The Victorian bathroom has an old fashioned clawfoot tub with shower.

ASHTON'S ROOM - A spacious queen size room with a beautiful four poster bed. The room is comfortably furnished with an antique wardrobe, dresser and chair. French doors open onto your small, private deck. The bathroom has an old fashioned claw foot tub with a shower.

MIRANDA'S ROOM -
This has a king size bed with a wonderful Victorian style headboard. In the bedroom is a large two-person whirlpool tub for complete relaxation. There is an antique wardrobe, dresser and two comfortable chairs. The bathroom has an old fashioned claw foot tub with a shower.

One or two extra people - $25.00/day
We will be happy to provide roses, champagne, dinner reservations, carriage rides, and any other "special touches" that you may want. Please ask for details. Custom packages are also available. Please ask us to design a "Sweetheart" or "Honeymoon" package just for you.
Our home baked breakfast includes coffee, tea, juice, an entree, sweetbread, freshly baked bread for toast, jellies, home baked fruit muffins and fresh fruit in season.

Deposit & Cancellation Policy: A deposit is required to confirm your reservation. Deposits are refundable, (less a $50.00 nonrefundable portion,) if your reservation is cancelled at least seven days prior to your scheduled arrival date. Holiday periods, special events, multiple room reservations and "Entire Cottage" reservations require fourteen days notice of cancellation. Early departures and late cancellations are charged for the full stay as reserved, so please reserve only those days that you will need. Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and personal checks are accepted. No deposit refunds will be issued without a valid cancellation number.
Check in time is 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Smoking Policy: Carriage Way is non-smoking on the inside of the inn. Smoking is allowed on the outside verandas. Evidence of smoking in the rooms will result in a charge of $200.00 to fumigate the room and the occupants will be asked to leave without refund of any reservation charges.
